alot of FG lads got in on a bash FF vibe, its not inconcievable that acting the maggot close to an election could cost them seats.

    And why was it passed?

Because they didn't allow George to provide input on or sell an alternative?

Yes, Hayes regained his seat the last time also, anything can happen over the next 2 years
but the George Lee debacle is going to cost at least potential gains for Fine Gael if not actual seats,

So opposing the government is now "acting the maggot"? Anyway, we're not close to an election.

In the name of God what was wrong between Lee and Fine Gael, Gay Byrne now saying he saw it coming,How come so many people in the media knew he was been wasted and nobody in Fine Gael could see it, Looking through the weeks papers today the happiest Fine Gael er seems to be Bruton

It passed because while George Lee may have got 27,768 votes in Dublin South, FF and their Green poodles have the votes in Dail Eireann.

They knew in FG that Lee was unhappy but as usuall they put their head in the sand : Richard has always said that if the position of leader of FG arose he would of course be interested and he knows that opportunity is coming soon and he was not going to let an upstart like Lee upset his plans to lead FG into the next election .

Bruton had Lee isolated in the Dail and everyone knew it but FG thought it would go away -Ooops they were right he did .
