Pretty appalling stuff from him to be honest. I can't get to the radio, has he been asked "If you're so unhappy with FG, why not just quit the party and continue as an independent, constantly stating your own economic ideas in public and the dail, and representing the people who voted for you?"

Did he really expect a senior front bench spot so soon? If he was just interested in having an economic input, why run for office at all, why not just provide consultancy for Bruton?

He's not angry about treatment by the media, he's angry about treatment by his own party leadership. They used him as a signal they were changing, then they ignored him when it came to anything beyond PR.

George obviously has a big ego that has not been massaged enough, a very high opinion of himself. He is being pathetic in throwing his toys out of his pram. This is about self-interest despite his man of the people facade. What did he expect? That he could just blow in and tell Bruton & Co what to do, fool. People saying Kenny has to go over this. Why? There would a backlash against him if he had given George Lee a frontbench position.

That was asked, he said an independent can achieve nothing.

Seriously though he is now in a truly fantastic position to attack the establishment economic ideology. He has a huge profile, will be viewed as a man of real integrity for resigning on principle, and now has the genuine inside track on the political machine.

    George will lead the revolution.

You could tell that to Lucinda as well! George is a disappointment. If he can't even make inroads in the party just imagine him in power! Wip comes to mind.

Some things have to grow and be fought for. May his inflated ego shrink a little.

George has just stated on Newstalk that he was offered a front bench position by Kenny after he told him he was leaving.

Ye they were too busy trying to tell us what a good leader Kenny was. Plonkers to a man/woman.
