Nobody knows why Elvis threw it all away
Nobody knows what Ruby had to hide
Nobody knows why some of us get broken hearts
And some of us find a world that's clear and bright

You could be packed up and ready
    Knowing exactly where to go
How come you miss the connection?
No use in asking...the answer is nobody knows
No use in asking...the answer is nobody knows

    Johnny will keep his illusions

Enda was not alone amongst politicians in most political parties in retaining their positions in the Public Service, they were wrong and should have given up their right of return to their positions many years ago, I understand that he and most of them have done so now.
George Lee purported to be a new breed of politician different to those who preceded him yet it has now emerged he too like them has feet of clay and played the system to his own advantage.

Link to those TDs who had retained their Public Service position

Pity Lee didn't understand that big boys rules mean you have to earn your role not sit around waiting to be given one.

In fairness he doesn't deserve too much flak about this, a Zeppelin sized ego like Lee's was probably never going to fit into a party. Better he went now than hang on and maybe bugger up forming a government after the GE.

Hasn't there been calls for "new blood" to come into the political system over the past few years? Even from FG.

Kenny fluffed it. He missed an opportunity to put someone "new" into the mix and didn't. He did it for Leo V. and a few others.

In military terms, I'd put Kenny in charge of supplies, not in charge of strategy.
You wouldn't want to put G.Lee in any position of responsibility - he'd go AWOL at the first sign of .....well, anything that didn't suit him

can someone please tell me what the hell this nonsense is about ego?

politics to a one is made up of people who have the neck to slap their face up on a poster and plaster it all over a town or city with the phrase "vote no.1 " for me " every five years or so.

am i the only one that sees irony in this ?

Nah, I've gotten a set of horseshoes, a sword and a suit of plate armour out of the irony so far.

Perhaps...Myk.....though if you're serious about making a difference...(when all about you seem to be chugging along)...you go out of your way to stir things up...with well researched proposals...and you keep pi**ing people off till they take notice!!

    Seems to work for me!!
