Listening to Radio 1 now and they are still waffling about "serving your time". Is there anyone in politics at all who has a bit of dynamism, who thinks outside the box?

When the ability to "time-serve" is your only talent, you're going to attach an enormous importance to it.

If the latter, what was it?

But this actually raises the question, whether Lee would have actually been a good minister.

To get anything done, you need to know how to work the civil service and Lee obviously doesnt know how to do that, so id say this resignation was coming regardless as any political numpty knows change happens slowly.

Approaching the civil service in a different way might get the changes people ask for, as opposed to Yes Minister type scenarios.

The rather wonderful On the Record blog over on the Irish Times website has coined the term GLXTD (George Lee Ex TD) .. which I rather like and thought I'd share with you.

On The Record George Lee resigns from Fine Gael and the Dáil
