'A defeatist attitude now would surely lead to defeat, it primarly a question of whether we have confidence in ourselves and the dilligence and determination of our people,We can't opt out of the future.' Sean Lemass (1965)
So on the weekend when it's announced that FG are showing their highest numbers ever, Lucy decides to have a bit of a hissy fit about Enda in a Tabloid.
Not exactly the sharpest political move I've seen in a while.
Unless the Star have completely divorced their headlines from her actual comments, this was a spectacularly stupid, selfish, and ill-advised interview to give. I was never particularly impressed with her before, but I'm increasingly of the view that all Lucinda Creighton has going for her is a few media mates, ambition, and a preening sense of entitlement. "I'll quit politics if I'm not made a minister"? If EK has any sense he won't even make her responsible for running FGs Christmas party.
I have to commend Lucinda Creighton's honesty, she is not making this stand over policy, the direction of the party,or the good of the country, she is making this stand for her own self serving reasons,to further her own career, nothing more.

What exactly was she thinking anyway? It's not as if the Star is known for its keen political journalism, nor that her target voters would be big Sunday Star readers anyway.
Sounds to me like her ego couldn't resist the opportunity for some publicity and got snared in a 'TABLOID SHOCKER' interview.
Fine Gaelers, sleeping dogs, etc. etc.
She sounds like an upper class Anglo brat, and a new Ireland needs her sort ,like they needed her
ancestors ! !
Oh is that racist ,oh dear ! !
