If you stopped acting the idiot, you would notice FG have a raft of policies on most topics, and every time you act the faux-gob************************e by asking 'whats their policy?' on something, usually some poor soul guides you to it, on the FG website, with the aid of google.

The Late Late should be renamed...."I'm Pat Kenny and I wont ask any awkward questions to the government, because I'm a lightweight interviewer."

And Pat Kenny probably thinks that he doesn't want to insult any of his viewers.. So he wont offer a challenge to any of his guests in the fear that someone might phone in with a complaint... I think the term "lilly-livered" sums up this

Are you saying that the PD's are the meat between a redundant party?
If so are you not something to be eaten..Are you the rancid meat in that tired and incompetent government?

As usual with these programs I missed it. As a matter of interest what sort of reception did McDowell get on the way into the studio from the audience? I recall McCreevy getting a lot of booing? I have a certain confidence in the broad mass of the Irish public to realise this criminality is not McDowell's doing and that he is the best man for the job of sorting it out. To those questioning the viability of the PD's as a separate party from FF I would point to the privatisation-agenda e.g. Aer Lingus, and to the tax-cutting agenda e.g. cut of top-rate to 41%, and to the asylum-agenda. I think many PD voters will be very disappointed in Mary Harney for the R.E./BUPA issue - it just seems to go against a core PD value i.e. competition. Nonetheless she is likely to be gone from the Cabinet in the next PD-FF govt and hopefully a Minister O'Donnell will return to the competition agenda after the election.

Remind me why the PDs are a separate party. We had a FF budget. Now competition in Health Insurance has been all but eradicated. The PDs have been subsumed into FF. To quote McDowell the PDs are the sting of a dying wasp unlike the crime gangs.
You dont happen to work for the National Enquirer, with all these gems you are coming out with.

of course they have some policies, most are delivered to them from their focus groups and are some pathetic attempt at populism.

Most of Gladstones posts are usually worth reading, the same cant be saif for FT,although there are many FG versions of Ft on this site.Remember when we had to listen to Fg posters ************************ing onabout the Kenny effect rather than debating issues.

They used to be worth reading - then he seemed to turn himself into some kind of imitation FutureTaoiseach, and his posts just became so ridiculous they're now funny.

Thats a bit silly, to be honest. If a thread is about issues, people talk about issues. If a thread's about opinion polls, the popularity or otherwise of party leaders, candidate strategies or whatever, then people talk about that. There's a lot more to discussing politics than having to always talk about "issues" as some kind of badge of honour.
"Elite - a small superior group; esp one that has a power out of proportion to its size." (Oxford English Dictionary)

The majority cannot therefore be the elite.

    'Blueshirts',
    Never once used that term.

    'reds',
I am a red, pay attention.
My recent swtich to PD persona is just to have fun playing an exadurated version of my opponent, since many (with notable exceptions) on this site are too stupid to understand compex debate past sloganering, it's much more fun the new way.

    'grubby'
    Never used that term once.

    'NO POLICIES!!'.
Yeh, heres the thing about that....what FG has on it's website, and intelligent, logical, comprehensive policies are not the same thing.

It's a few half baked ideas (drunk tanks) mixed with a few seemingly progressive ones that are so unbelevably diluted from what a progressive agenda should be that they have the same effect on the senses as waterd down vodka (free GP for under 5s...WOW...calm down there thats a bit radical now....) and then theres the most famous populist bull************************ (army doing law and order, boot camp and crack anti-spray paint teams) and lets not forget the ones that read like they were thought up by a 14 year old in CSPE.

Not to mention the most critical part of your policy platform, economics, is INDENTICAL to your main "opponent", leading me to wonder, with the other MINOR tinkering policy diffrences, why your a seperate party at all?
