What tabloid paper did you get that from?
You'd see that from any newspaper in the State.

The writing is on the wall.

Bupa is withdrawing and we have had 5 murders this week. I know you PDs live on a different planet. Responsibility rests with PD ministers not the opposition.
I love the irony of some people that say gvt isn't transparent enough and then piss and moan when a minister hits the airwaves
No problem with this on condition that the opposition get right of reply on same show.

fair point. but if the LLS had to have jim okeefe on for the right of reply they probably wouldnt do the piece at all as it would just become an ugly point scoring exercise

If the Late Late delves into politics as it must ensure BALANCE. There was no balance in a show where McDowell attacked the opposition without contradiction.

Obviously you do not believe in competition. You prefer a monopoly. Are you just pretending to be a PD? The HIGH PRIESTS of competition now support a monopoly. Clearly the PDs are heading for the cliff.

The Tubridy Show has not got the same audience as The Late Late. Also remember we had the Late Late from Limerick with Willie O Dea and Nicky Byrne looking for support for FF. Light Entertainment shows should steer clear of politics.

No he had invented some kind of road safety system, which means he had an idea of an important policy area, which means he couldn't have been in FG.
you mean like the PD's have in education, FG do have policies on transport/road safety, unlike the PD's who are just a bunch of morons.

Just on tonights LLS, I thought it was quite interesting the amount of texts that were sent in lambasting the minister.
Do they? when you click POLICY on their website you get SPEEACHES critical of the govt...thats not the same thing...

Then when you eventually find the policy section this is what you are greeted with...
    Defence, Health, Crime and Waste.

    Lets look at them first...
I've been repeatidly critical of the Socialist Party for not having detailed policies, just one liners...little did I realise FG are actually a little worse...

    Tougher and more consistent sentencing
Three strikes? sentenceing guidlines? life meaning life? no detailes but of course your just hoping poeople will hear tough sentencing and go "yeh yeh grrr grrr" and vote for you...that won't work

Prosecution should propose appropriate sentence. Prosecution speaks for the people, let the people be heard.
Improve rostering so that Gardaí are on the streets when crime happens.
Improve management, make Gardaí more accountable to communities
and open up senior management positions.
Provide the requisite technology and equipment.

The four above read like they were written by a 14 year old in CSPE or worse yet, like they were made up off the top of someones head.

Let judges electronically tag people accused of serious crime while out on bail.
Oireachtas should set sentencing tariffs, and if a judge departs from the guideline he must explain why. This way the Judge’s independence is maintained but greater transparency and accountability are introduced.
End automatic remission of 25% for serious crimes. Remission must be earned through good behaviour and participation in rehabilitation/educational programmes
Out of around 20 bullet points these represent the ONLY specific proposals.

Some of the heatlh policies are specific probably because they are written by someone who is a doc but not nearly comprehensive enough.

The policies on drunk tanks and boot camps, aswell as the idea of putting sumbags into the army, again read like an amature 14 year old in CSPEs ideas, not those of a policial party trying to present itself as leader of an alternative government.

Nothing on...the economy (the single most important thing besides education, from which everything else flows)...education...taxation...enviornment...EU.. ..
