The only way to change the world is to win elections.
Nicky Byrne asked for support for FF in the next election during his Late Late appearance. The Late Late Show had no opposition spokesperson to confront McDowell. The Minister for Excuses and Disorder got a soft interview and made plenty of political attacks on FG/Labour without contradiction. Everone else is responsible for the collapse of law and order only our Michael. Presumably The Late Late will seek to redress the imbalance. If not there are major implications.Well was Nicky Byrne talking about politics, hardly!!!
PD policies have wrecked the Health Service and of course we have the WILD WEST on our streets. The PD record is abysmal with gangs out of control. Murder and mayhem RULE.No he had invented some kind of road safety system, which means he had an idea of an important policy area, which means he couldn't have been in FG
If they had any good or remotly interesting ideas on the major issues Im sure they'd be invited on, but they don't.I think the Mullingar gang are just jealous!!
You have a point, but in fairness, the Government get gratuitously roasted every day on Morning Ireland, Live Line and the Pat Kenny Show, not to mention the once off pummelling that was Rip Off Republic.Originally Posted by culbair
RTE are a disgrace in terms of impartiality. They never shy away from using juicy adjectives to both support and criticise the Government and politics in general.
eg 'historic' agreements and 'lengthy' dail recesses etc etc

lets not go over the top here. McD is one of the 4 REALLY famous politicians on the island. The LLS is about entertainment and McD is far more recognisable (thus timeworthy) than, say, Jim OKeefe.Originally Posted by culbair
When the election gets going proper RTE will count the minutes for all the parties religously. but for now people shouldnt moan about the Minister for Justice getting airtime to talk about serious issues rather than some nobody just putting out the same old guff about problems having magic answers in the form of some extra quango.
I love the irony of some people that say gvt isn't transparent enough and then piss and moan when a minister hits the airwaves
