Cop on Steviebhoy..Just becasue FF doesnt support a paramilitary organisation, it doesnt mean we arent Republican. The primary aim of the party is the reunification of the island through democratic and peaceful means

Well i support a politicsl party who is doing a hell of alot more than others to try and make the peace process work and get the institutions back up and running! as for support a paramilitary organisation i never mentioned that in my first post dont have to support an organisation so no need to get smart but lets face it fianna fail; are not a republican party simple as that.

Steviebhoy, you would do better to ask the same questions of your own party, if you are a member.
If your definition of republicanism is a general desire for a united Ireland in the future then what differentiates your party from FF (save that your party must keep up the republican image to keep the grassroots on their side?)
And FF had plenty of honest, committed republicans in its day.

Then accept the PSNI!! I know you didnt mention that, SF members have a habit of forgetting to mention their not too distant history..FF are Republican party. We have been a democratic Republican party since the 30's and nothing that you or your other cronies from SF say or do will change that. At the end of the day, the Irish people decide and guess what? They have never come down in favour of your party since 1922. (even though I dont accept that Provisional Sinn Fein are the Sinn Fein Party of the WOI)

But before this you werent. You were tied to a proscribed, 'paramilitary' organisation that did no recognise the legitimacy of the free state.
Does this mean you regard the origins of FF as less than respectable?

As a non-ffer, I recgnise FF as being a republican party. Building a democratic republic is central to their ethos.

They are different to SF, in that they are not a sectarian party seeking to eliminate unionism in Ireland.

I totally accept your point, hence why I mentioned the 30's. During that era FF were tired to the IRA, ill be honest about it but since then we have been very much opposed to them.

Also, it was within 10 years of the end of WOI and Civil War. Today80 years have passed and yet some parties still have links to them

For the love of God WH will you at least try to get your language right ..

Unionists are not a "sect" .. therefore the elimination of Unionism, cannot be described as Sectarian ...

Neither do Republicans within SF, wish to remove Protestants .. the "sect" I beleive you're talking about, nor peoples for reason of religion of any other faith or none.

We wish to remove British political influence from the island of Ireland...

Is it really that difficult to understand ?
1,197 people agree with me.. how many agree with you ?
