House of Junior FF Backbencher egged

Eggs hurled at TD's home - The Irish Times - Sun, Jul 12, 2009

Monaghan TD Margaret Conlon's house was egged last night.

    I suspect Digout!

Seriously though, if it was politically motivated (rather than a former student with a grudge or a disgruntled neighbour), such anger could be employed in more positive ways.

No-one was hurt in the incident but her three children were in the house at the time, the eldest of whom is 15.

Attacking a family home is wrong. We should egg their constituency offices.

I hope whoever threw them eggs had the decency to buy them south of the border. Monaghan's fierce close to the border you know. As Fianna fail say buying anything, including eggs, north of the border is unpatriotic.

i am sure mrs Conlon TD joins us all in hoping that these eggs were patriotic.

oh yeah condemns this etc unwarranted etc outrage etc and so on.

I would not waste good eggs on a FFer, must prefer eating them. The family home should be exempt from this kind of action if its politically motivated.

This surely is a bull---t story. was any reason given for the eggs being thrown? where i live it is seen as a (unacceptable) teenage prank to throw eggs at a house and not at all a political act.
    Come off it Margaret,

Well, if the family home isn't exempted from the property tax in the next budget.. there might be a run on the sale of eggs

Agree, this is the wrong way to vent anger. But anyone under that banner deserves abuse.

Margaret Conlon has not supported her constituents regarding the closure of monaghan Hospital. FF has no mandate to close it. there have been marches etc. What are people expected to do when there is no democracy and they feel their lives are being put at risk?

I heard that the crumlin Children's Hospital group are considering a picket at Harney's private house in Dublin. Can you blame them? Protests via the accepted routes (Dail etc) are ignored. Nobody voted to hurt sick children.
