What could possibly compel people to consider Bertie for any national office ?

Bertie is a proven liar and perjurer. He cannot be let become president because if he does then the next government led by FG will be placed in the difficult position of exposing his involvement in dodgy deals with Anglo and other banks. It would bring great shame on the country to have to publicly condemn the president.
I cannot for the life of me see how even one ratuional adult would vote for a self serving liability such as Ahern. The only good thing about the whole sorry mess about his career is that he has been exposed for the sham that he is and he will have to live with public ignominy for many years to come.

I think its come to a pretty pass when trying to sort candidates for the Presidency we're talking about someone singing a song on a chat show.

This is nothing to be proud of.

Hear Hear. Given the lack of obvious candidates would anyone like to suggest who would be in the top 5 potential candidates?

And I can imagine Michael Lowry as the guest of honour at the Aras.

What a tightly bound corrupt little gang of sh1ts the great and the good are.
