    Atlantic Dawn & the FF'rs

Atlantic Dawn owner leaves €70m to wife - Times Online

When one reads the above article and you see Frank Fahey and Bertie stuck in the middle of it and loads of monies to be made by getting permissions from the EU, one can only think this is another curruption stroke for the 2 lads.

Anybody got the lowdown on this one.

Fahey seems to glide around everything and when the shlte flies he is well gone, he must be the fav for an FF'r to turn up in the Anglo fiasco particularly with his close connections to Sean Mulryan and Ballymore.

I think you mean their natural resources. This is how FF seems to view things.

I find it amazing(and terrifying) that theres a FF councillor in Galway called "Stroke" Fahy. He must be some piece of work given the record of his namesake Frank. I think the problem with the electorate in Galway may be all that sh$te in the drinking water is damaging the part of the brain where intellegiance usually resides

Some parts of Mayo have the same problem.

What happened to that big Garda fraud investigation into Donegal fishermen a few years back? There were lots of unrecorded landings and all that craic. Forging of logbooks etc. Was it burried at a high level, because it was mounting up to serious fraud charges when it started off.

Oh FFS, don't get me started on the "evil fishermen" crap that was being pushed around the last 5-10 years.

Truth of the matter is that there are a handful of fishermen seriously bypassing the quotas by landing abroad and not declaring the catches. Anyone involved in Fishing knows who these are.

Due to the fact that the government had to drastically cut the size of the fleet they decided to bring in draconian measures against the entire fleet. I'm not talking about quotas, since everybody agrees that they are necessary. I'm talking about "fisheries Officers". People were arrested over a box of fecking queenies. ARRESTED.

The "authorities" went after the small guys and totally ignored the biggies because they were mostly all pals with the politicians.

The state the government has let the Irish fishing industry fall into is a complete and utter bloody disgrace.

The vast majority of fishermen were TRYING to keep to the rules but sometimes the rules were changed while they were at sea and they only found out when they got back. Often with the "fisheries officers" waiting for them. Great system.

    Shane.
