No. If you compare prices at Farmers markets and Greengrocers to Tesco you'll find they are cheaper. Also meat is cheaper and better quality in Butchers. I have compared prices and believe me tesco aren't cheap.

And if Ned wanted to link up his nonsensical warblings he should call for us to withdraw from the EU, which is the only way this is possible.

    What a dork

Is this thread a joke? Not even Ned O'Keeffe is that dumb. WHo does he think buys more Irish agricultural produce than all of France? (Not to mention other products.)

You have hit the nail on the head, a lot of Irish producers have put their eggs in the one basket.

Tesco has perhaps too much power as a purchaser.
A champion of the people emerges with the age-old and appealing promise of "something for nothing" - to be financed through every-increasing taxes. Supply and demand are thrown out of gear - the overhead goes up; the effective use of human energy goes down; the standard of living is lowered because money cannot buy wealth that is not produced.

Ah c'mon now, I think Tesco know that Ireland is not part of the UK.

Not around where I live. Tesco is cheaper, with more convenient opening hours, and I don't need a car to get there.
