Why should it be tolerated, he is the highest earning TD yet he is almost never there off trying to earn monies elsewhere and portray himself as some Angel of Peace or someone who knows the EU inside-out, Biffo should put the boot in hard and firm, make him toe the line and get rid of his perks.

I think bertie is missed more by his haters than by anyone in FF. Yiz are obsessed with the hasbeen.
If the banks are out for a bail,
and Lenny's efforts end up as a fail,
    when the Somer does come,
    to the Country they'll run,
And leave a Fine mess for the Gael.

    From the Indelendent:

'A spokeswoman for Mr Ahern said last night that it was "custom and practice" that former Taoisigh only had to attend "important" votes and could miss the day-to-day ones. "Former taoisigh are automatically paired," she added.'

So, if this is an acccurate quote from the spokeswoman, he is effectively retired on a full salary and free to top up his income at the Irish taxpayers' expense. No wonder the public have so little faith in politicians anymore.

If he made skillions of dough why would he need more?
A P.ie moderator stated this on June 25th 2010: P.ie tolerates very broad free speech, and thus allows sectarian bigotry etc

The FF'rs system is to skin all the people all of the time, no matter how much money Bertie has he will make more and more, the 3 stooges are greedy busturds and stick their noses into every business deal they can, mainly in their own area, to make money for themselves and Lord Bertie.

We are the ones who are paying him, against our will, so we definitely have the right to know why the spanner is not doing his job.

Bertie doesn't turn up for work but continues to draw huge salary and pension + perks from the (almost) bankrupt state which is withdrawing services from the most vulnerable in our society.

And you attempt to turn a discussion on this into an anti Enda Kenny thing.

    Convoluted thinking.

This is criticism laid down at most former leaders.

I think they probably just find it boring after going from the top to being a backbencher.

I think leaders should do here what they do in Australia and New Zealand, resign their seat after they leave office.
