I kid you not. Jim McDaid was just interviewed by Ursala Halligan on TV3 saying that he will vote against the budget if it is not 'severe enough'. Jim seems to have a bit of a death wish! Who needs Silius when you have Jim McDaid getting your back!!

He seemed to be articulating an impatience among FF Parliamentary Party members and the mixed signals that the government have been sending out. One to watch..........

Probably just another April Fool spoof! Jim does make us all laugh - sometimes.

Hang on Cybill, so McDaid is trying to play his side, against another side, against the government's side? Meanwhile the opposition haven't a clue?

McDaid is potentially playing the government side- let's say they want an adjustment of €4.5b.

Labour start saying €2.5b is all that can be taken

Now so leftie FF backbenchers start threatening to take down the government (the papers have speculated on this) unless the adjustment is say €3.5b

So now McDaid from the far side also is playing the ultimatum game ...

This takes the bolshie lefties out of play

Indeed , things get messy, there's 4 factors at play here

1) Coalition member's with any form of interest / positions that would diverge sharply from the government's
[COLOR=White]___[/COLOR]2) The chutzpah of such members: would they actually go through with voting against ?
[COLOR=White]___[/COLOR]3) The co-operation power of such people: can they team up, signal to each other ?
[COLOR=White]___[/COLOR]4) Their brain power: are they good at game theory & bargaining ?

And the " interest / positions that would diverge sharply from the government's" would include

A) Lefties
B) Righties
C) Looters like Michael Lowry
D) Other issues like say Finian McGrath on CF

So this is turning into one motherf*cking complex ultimatum game

I wonder what JHR thinks of it ?
