FF General Secretary Goes to Washington- who paid?

    According to this article;

Obama brings buzz back to Washington St Patrick's bash - The Irish Times - Thu, Mar 19, 2009

FF General Secretary Sean Dorgan was in attendance at the main White House St Patrick's Day party, as was Senator Timmy Dooley and an unnamed FF official.

In light of the government's commitment to cut down on the cost of St Patrick's Day trips, did the exchequer pay for the flights and accommodation of these party hacks?

Who invited them, were they on Cowen's guest list?

I thought this would be a national event, not an event for political party hacks!

Timmy Dooley is a clare TD, so I dont know why he was there, not representing the senate anyway. Jesus why are we not surprised with this carry on, you can be damn sure the boys travelled in the government jet.

More of the same from FF. We paid of course. I'd love to know who this unnamed "official" was.

Digout ... you're beginning to sound like a broken record.

    Myk asked the reasonable questions
In light of the government's commitment to cut down on the cost of St Patrick's Day trips, did the exchequer pay for the flights and accommodation of these party hacks?

Do you actually know the answer, or are you just guessing ?

Corruption and bad practice need to be tackled - and allegations need to be proven. If it transpires that they paid for say just the accommodation , then your statement is incorrect.

what do you mean? you think its bad if his accommodation and flights were paid for by the state, but that if he paid for his own accommodation but freeloaded on the government jet, then that is ok?

I'm not having a dig, just clarifying.

I think either free-loading on the jet or free accommodation would not be good. My problem is that Digout has told us all that they got both free, and that if it transpires that either was paid for then his credibility is shot to hell.

the 'party official' was named...David Harmon(it today)

I dont see the problem...if i was cowen, headin to the white house I would want a wise political operator and a highly intelligent, experienced and world class capable advisor with me to take full advantage of any opportunities which arise to further the countrys cause.....

Dooley and harmon would be top of my list too.....

    get over yourselves lads...
