Cowardice asks the question - is it safe? Expediency asks the question - is it politic?
Vanity asks the question - is it popular? But Conscience asks the question - is it right?
And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular;but one must take it simply because it is right. -MLK
How important exactly are these pan-european groups?

Every one sees what you appear to be, few really know what you are, and those few dare not oppose themselves to the opinion of the many, who have the majesty of the state to defend them.

Well if it is true it was never put to the grass roots for discussion. Sounds just like Cowen.
As an FFer, the best thing that could happen to Fianna Fail is for 1/2 the current bunch of FF TDs to loose their seats. And I would like to see ALL the front bench loose theirs.
But if people think FF are bad, it will be as bad or worse under FG and Labour.
Ireland needs reconstruction from top to bottom.

I haven't checked them all out, but they look a little all over the place, held together by a liberal tradition which normally includes things like civil rights and the separation of church and state. A logical enough place for the PDs: with the PDs departing the scene, does this mean Fianna Fail are trying to take their place? Or is it more likely sheer opportunism?
