A fantastic achievement and Tuesday will mark the pinnacle of his career in Finance.

He can be sure that long after lesser men have been forgotten his name will live on as an example to us all...

Maybe Paul Gascoigne will send him over a can of lager and some chicken

    - to keep him going tomorrow afternoon as he slaughters us with his carry on...

Brian Lenihan is a dangerous person to have so much power because he is able to lie so forcefully and unflinchingly that ordinary people are taken in by his smooth assertive palaver which is delivered with strong conviction.
He is definitely our worst ever Minister for Finance. But he shares that prize with the other Brian.

Well i dont know about you but it does seem slightly odd to me that brian lenihan, rated 2nd worst finance minister in europe 2 years ago, who is only a solicitor,

Brian Lenihan, Jnr - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sits on the board of governers of the IMF,

IMF Members' Quotas and Voting Power, and IMF Board of Governors

And is still retaining his job in his current capacity after bringing the country to the point of the abyss & is now 'negotiating' with his colleagues in the IMF for a better deal!

Now what seems odd is that when he was rated so bad 2 years ago, has done untold damage to the country, i hear this morning that John Curran has honours in A1 applied mathmatics!

Firstly i think he would be better equiped to have done our financial business at least over a solicitor.

Secondly i am amazed that we need to have a representative of our government (a solicitor) sitting on the board of governers of a private instituition before we were in the perilous state we are!!!!

This entire system stinks to high heaven of cronyism.

    To quote the esteemable Bock:

For the second consecutive year, our beloved Minister for Giving Things to Banks has been voted the worst, the absolute, arse-festering, fruit-bat ************************************g, most abysmal man in Europe at his job, and not by any old gob************************es either, but by the Financial Times.

This deserves its own thread but I can't start them yet so this will have to do. New FT finance minister rankings out. Noonan placed 10th overall, 18th on economics and 3rd on politics
