There should be ample funds if the cash was wisely spent and while we are at it do we need so many quangos, ministers etc?

Even if they were spent with 100% efficiency, there would still need to be difficult decisions.

Ofc, you do get questions like "should we provide the vacine and cut wages/reduce staff or keep wages at the current level?" and the 'right' answer is not always given.

There is difficult decisions to be made (mainly due to terrible planning). The focus on these decisions are certainly in the wrong areas.

Dear me! Reduce staff which should not have been engaged in the first place?

    These are examples of mismagement.

When the HSE was set up employment increased...

I must admit this is comic. Gold cards for millionaires but nothing for anyone else.
Liquidate labour, liquidate stocks, liquidate the farmers, liquidate real estate.

That's what I mean, see the context in which I posted. The global climate changes and it's nothing new. We had "global warming" which ended the ice age, and man had nothing to do with it.

Perhaps we should postpone tetanus, polio, measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines for kids too, and the elderly are going to die soon anyway so let's stop this weak-minded flu-jab nonsense too.
Totally different situation. These are diseases which impact a much higher portion of people and the vaccines are relativly cheap. As has been reported elsewhere the screening for cervical cancer is continuing and in terms of "bang for the buck", THAT is where the money needs to go.

Once again the opposition is gettin people fretting unnecessarily and the government at doing a poor job on communicating their priorities.
The Mahon Tribunal found Olivia Mitchell to have received an inappropriate payment from Frank Dunlop at the time of the 1992 Election. F.G. Gael has taken no action against her.

So should we also stop giving the flu vaccine to the elderly every winter?

FFS, take some time to actually consider the reality of the position rather than the Enda Kenny and Labour inspired hyperbole. Would you cut screening for women at risk, in favour vacinating 12 year old? Please get a grip. The money will be found in next years budget, with no discernable damage.
So why was Harney originally in favour of introducing it this year?

The IPCC has clearly demonstrated how mankind has nearly irrecovably altered the climate. Their decades of meta-analysis sits on top of further decades of scientific studies that clearly illustrate the manner by which we are heating the planet.

Your patent inability to understand climate change is only surpassed by the sheer incongruity of your trill chirping.
