    Examine VAERS Database

This is being sold as a cure for Cervical Cancer. It is not. It provides immunisations for 4 types of HPV that MAY cause cancer.

My point is that people are not being given the full story on this - we're being goven the PR line. After researching it, I would NOT give this to my daughter.

And don't take my word for it:

LEBANON, N.H. — A lead researcher who spent 20 years developing the vaccine for humanpapilloma virus says the HPV vaccine is not for younger girls, and that it is "silly" for states to be mandating it for them. Not only that, she says it's not been tested for effectiveness in younger girls, and administering the vaccine to girls as young as 9 may not even protect them at all. And, in the worst-case scenario, instead of serving to reduce the numbers of cervical cancers within 25 years, such a vaccination crusade actually could cause the numbers to go up.

As far as I'm concerned, the government is right to proceed with prioritising screening rather than rolling out the vaccine. The fact of the matter is the transmission of the virus is entirely preventable, whereas women who are in danger of developing cervical cancer need to be screened.

Look, it's simple. If you don't want to risk it, don't have your daughter vaccinated. But then don't go all teary eyed if she develops cervical cancer in later years ok?

There are many, many parents out there (me included) who do want this vaccine and Harney is wrong!

It's not a cure. It's a preventative measure that greatly reduces the risk of a woman contracting the two major HPV strains that cause cervical & anal cancer.

You have the right to refuse to vaccinate your children. I reserve my right to call you irresponsible.

The mass circumcision of the male population would probably do it to!

I'm sorry for your daughter if you're happy to blindly give her a vaccine untested on 11-13 year old girls because the government says it's fine.

Are you going to go all teary eyed if your daughter dies or becomes seriously disabled from the vaccine?

This has not been tested on girls that young - it has been tested on 15 - 18 year olds. It's effectiveness has been 'bridged' from this research. This has NOT been proven to be safe for girls this young.

Who said anything about blindly? Do you think I am incapable of carrying out my own research on the vaccine?

The point is that Harney was wrong to stop it. It should be available as an option for parents. The key here is informed choice - not total denial which Harney has done.

Why does it have to be a choice in Ireland? Cervical screening or Vaccine when 13 countries in the EU have both?

Silvernut your causing fear about a Vaccine, we have heard it all before from people who aren't qualified to rate the information they are seen, as another poster said if you don't want to give the Vaccine to your daughter then fine thats your right but just because you think it may have a few issues doesn't mean the Government should not make it available.

Scaremongering is easy when it comes to Vaccine's we have it seen all before, and tbh I think your posts are political and nonsense to try and justify a sickening decision by the FF.

I never said it shouldn't be made available, I'm saying that a mass vaccination programme for girls of this age is irresponsible based on the research done (not based on my opinion). When someone who knows far more about it than I do calls it "a great big public health experiment." then I have every right to be worried.

I encourage others to read up about it and make up their own mind. People should be allowed to make an informed choice and they are not being given the information.
