FIANNA FÁIL has indefinitely put off plans to organise in Northern Ireland - despite serious consideration of the issue last year, Taoiseach Brian Cowen said.

For now, the party will concentrate on implementing the internal strategic review due to be finished within weeks by the party's general secretary Seán Dorgan.

Makes sense. Concentrate on home issues first and all that.

Though I would have liked to see a lot of expansion as it would have really helped the peace process and possibly, the re-unification.
Every one sees what you appear to be, few really know what you are, and those few dare not oppose themselves to the opinion of the many, who have the majesty of the state to defend them.

    Ooh, look!
That wouldn't be the Irish Times cogging stories from the Sunday tabloids again, would it?

If only I had said this would happen a year ago.

    Oh no wait, I did.

It was never going to come to anything.
We should be shaping an Ireland based on full respect for the human and civil rights of all our people, an Ireland of which Larkin and Connolly would be very proud.

So Mr Cowen, I dub thee Duke of York. And may I say how grand you look today? Oh look yonder, it is a mighty hill. Perchance you might wish to join John McGuinness in marching up and down it?
Dan Sullivan. I was back but we still couldn't all have a vote.

I doubt if they were ever serious.

In fairness to the nordies, they dont deserve the corrupt gombeen politics of 21c Ireland. No, best get into the 19th or 20th (or 18th for the DUP), then we can corrupt them

I said from the word "go" that this was going to go nowhere, so it comes as no surprise. National issues have to come first especially in the current economic environment. I hope they follow up in the budget with an announcement of stopping Irish taxpayers money going into infrastructural projects in N.I. It's a luxury we can no longer afford.
The Mahon Tribunal found Olivia Mitchell to have received an inappropriate payment from Frank Dunlop at the time of the 1992 Election. F.G. Gael has taken no action against her.
