The FF man, Neo-Nazis and the e-mail mystery

Ciaran O'Connell, who was part of the FF general election campaign team in Dublin South Central, had organised Orga meetings over the summer and was tipped to stand in the local elections, has denied he was a contributor to the fascist Blood & Honour website. O' Connell claims that someone hacked his account, replied to the confirmation email, created the username Chapelizod (where O' Connell lives), posted on the forum and sent his email address via pm to other members, all without his knowledge

Ogra Fianna Fail have removed his details from their site and he has deleted his bebo account which he had set up as part of a campaign to run for election.

German anti-fascists hacked the forum on Blood & Honour gathering 30,000 email addresses, private messages and image galleries. The information including the info of Irish contributors has been distributed on the web via torrents.

Well, Ogra always seemed a bit like the Hitler Youth...no, I jest.

This activity strikes me as completely unethical. Apart from anything else, does it not occur to the hackers that people who registered on this 'Blood and Honour' site may not ALL necessarily be neo-Nazis?

I know that people who post on politics.ie have actually registered on Stormfront for observation purposes or whatever.

The other big problem is that the info may fall into the hands of far left groups who are in their own way every bit as bad as the far right.

Actually, in modern Germany history, far left terror groups have been more dangerous than the right, e.g. Baader-Meinhof in the 1970's.

Ha ha, busted. tbh though, free speech and all that so I don't really mind. I'd never vote for him though, but I don't live in his constituency so that's hardly going to matter. I wonder how large a base fascism has in Ireland though, I think it's relatively substantial on the continent again so I suppose it was inevitable.

Tis all just tabloid hysteria . I once contributed to a ' national front ' site (I told them they were morons! ) People who are interested in politics should not have to live in fear of lazy , rubbish journalists (or cynical 'anti fascists' who are in fact fascist).

The contributions to the site from the email address were not negative towards fascism. The posts from the account stated that he was a fascist and that he wished to contact other Irish fascists.

Apologies if this story has been put up already. Ive searched this site for references to his name and only came across this - viewtopic.php?p=994899&sid=34a82c7864375c87b08f6ea 8338c022d#p994899

Its from a contributor using the same username, 'Chapelizod,' that was used on the Blood and Honour site. It mentions O'Connell and how Opus Dei appear normal. The P.ie 'Chapelizod' was accused by Andrew (moderator) of sock puppetry to generate publicity for a local election campaign.

andrew wrote:Chapelizod - I seem to remember you repeatedly posting threads on Opus Dei (under another username) and arguing with yourself, trying to generate publicity for an unconfirmed 2009 FF local election candidate (yourself). If you wish to advertise on this site, please click on the "Advertise on this site" link or contact webmaster@politics.ie otherwise please stop this childish attention seeking. We dont take very kindly to sockpuppets.

I can see the headline tomorrow "The P.ie NAZI CONNECTION" "Posters to Libertas-linked website GLOAT about NAZI contrabutions!, the Sunday Mirror can reveal"
"Who will bailout the IMF after FF is finished with them?"

Why would the Sunday Mirror publish on a Wednesday?
Please sign the petition to establish a national day of celebration in honour of the vision of the United Irishmen!
