Are Fianna Failers a bit slow?

I write this because of the poor response I got from my thread asking FF to explain its management of the economy over last four years. I honestly wanted to hear there explanation for why we are only one of two nations in the EU now in a recession. I also wanted to hear their views on the collapse of the housing market and their response to various comments by Ahern/Cowen saying there was no problem with housing market and to expect a soft landing. I would also like their views on the state of public finances and why when it was obvious that public finances were held up by stamp duty -some of this money would be put aside for the inevitable downturn.

But perhaps I dream because FF ers are only good at getting Power-I will give them that. They are not good at economics. Great at slagging FG but otherwise I think they are a bit dim. Not saying all their supporters are dim but a considerable amount are. As for actual party members-its too early for me to say what I think about them. Prove me wrong and defend your management of economy. Surely you must have some good to say? Defend your party!

They are waiting for the govt. to get their story straight, then you'll see the spin in action.

Good luck with that Hiker - most of the FF contingent here have legged it ages ago - as have most of the thoughtful posters of any party full stop.

Its ironic that about 6 months ago - there was an article in Phoenix I think - that described P.ie as a graffiti board and loadza folks around here got in an awful huff about it.

Talk about a self fulfilling prophecy.

Problem is around here is that if you write anything more than 15 sentences - it will be ignored for being too long and nobody could be arsed reading it - and God forbid that you write something balanced - biggest sin of all

Thro in the fact that the word is now around everywhere that P.ie is Eurosceptic, real world sceptic central on the web here - well basic fact of the matter is most of good posters have gone - or pop in now and again just for a look , not to post because it simply isn't worth it anymore.

Anyway - hope you get some good replies - but I have a feeling it will just turn into a childlish slagging session and FT will find some way of dragging Lisbon into it.

I am not that pessimistic about this site but I think you are right about too much slagging and little debate. Debate involves listening to your opponents and commenting on what they say. Too much of the time it descends into one poster zeroing in on one sentence or minor inconsistencies rather than the general thrust of argument. We are all at fault at times. Though I think there are some smart posters out there still. Are there alternative politics sites?
I dont think there are FF ers out there on any site willing to defend this mess. Its a sad state that members of our biggest party cant defend themselves.
Anyway everyone should read Stephen Collins article in Todays IT before defending FF.

That comment by Barbarian proves my point about FF ers and perhaps proves point about state of debate on Politics.ie

    Spare us the platitude.
You've proved the point by your thread subject heading...you're not looking for any answers and couldn't care less of the quality of replies or threads on p.ie - you are trolling, plain and simple. So I'd appreciate if you'd drop the pretence of debate.

The best way to deal with this is substract the number of replies from the number of views, that will give you the number of FF gombeens that cant answer you.

To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Re: Are Fianna Failers a bit slow?

Go back to the first post on this thread Barbarian-its explained there why I was forced to use a provocative heading because when I tried to post a serious heading on this topic no FF ers including yourself(BARBARIAN) came forward. The fact that you now do proves my point.
However on a serious level-I honestly do want your opinions. Im broad minded enough to see other point of views. What do you think of our current economic situation and FF management of Economy? There are good sides to their management but I want to hear your side. There is too much anti-FF stuff on economy at the moment-I will be honest and say I believe most of it but its always good to hear alternative views-do you have any?

    .
Every board I have ever been on. be Politivs or Football or whatever I hear people saying what you are saying now. Usually people annoyed because they are not the centre of attention. As for "balanced" well that depends on your point of view which is different for each person. That's why boards like this exist in the first palce.
