Well, more than a month after the defeat and the verdict must be, no it has not seriously damaged him.

He has been damaged by the state of the economy, not by Lisbon.

The Lisbon fiasco has been awful for Cowen in the eyes of the elite P.ie politicos, but that's about it. There is no reason to think it would damage his standing with the voters. SFers, Libertas, Cóir etc. aren't going to think any less of Cowen for failing to bring through the treaty. FFers are going to blame FG and Lab for the failing. So the only people who will actually blame Cowen for this are FG and Lab, and they blame him for everything anyway, so he's really no worse off.

BadBoy2 - good thread to resurrect.

Cowen has gone from FF gunslinger with the biggest Magnum (or whatever) in his pocket to Coco the inebriated Clowen from Clara.

Bertie now has the other clown, Brendan O'Connor, leading a bring back Bertie movement.
