Fianna Fail Financing: A questionable practice?

With the tribunals sniffing out a few rats in the fianna fail ranks, do the new figures released by the standards in public office commission suggest that this is just the tip of the ice-berg. Fianna Fail received €517,871.16 in donations, approximately quadruple what Fine Gael received. Also the top ten donation receivers were with the exception of 2 individuals all Fianna Fail TDs. The top ten is as follows -
1. Joe Behan TD (FF) - €37,600
2. John McGuinness TD (FF) - €32,500
3. Senator Rónán Mullen (NP) - €32,030
4. Darragh O'Brien TD (FF) - €28,266
5. Seán Connick TD (FF) - €25,500
6. Jackie Healy-Rae TD (NP) - €24,900
7. Christy O'Sullivan TD (FF) - €22,900
8. Micheál Martin TD (FF) - €22,135
9. Áine Brady TD (FF) - €22,000
10. Mattie McGrath TD (FF) - €20,500

Of particular note on this list is the "honourable and decent" John McGuinness, who was so quick to demand an explanation of Berties finances. Perahps he didn't want any more stones unturned?

With hefty donations such as the above,its very hard to beleive Fianna Fail didn't scratch any backs.

No doubt they are heavy words indeed. The sad and the oh too familiar truth is that they are beleivable. Fianna Fail didnt just get slapped with a bad name, it worked hard for it and earned it!
