    Cowen to do a Dev?

There is a whole furor over the cabinet shuffle and who is going where. There is traditionally a mid term reshuffle and if there is a shuffle now will/can/should it be done again in a couple of months?

Dev when he formed his governments had no problem being taoiseach AND finance/foreign affairs. Its not impossible for Cowen to say that in the interests of the economy and the country that he retain finance portfolio until the mid-term in a little while.

This would also have the added benefit of allowing Brian Lenihan to "mature" and get some experience before he is put into finance/tainaiste.

Why would he want to deliver Budget 2009? No thanks.
We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns — the ones we don't know we don't know.

Oh. Is that all? I thought you meant he was going to start a pointless civil war.

He might want to do it because of a) faith in his experience b) lack of faith in experience of others c) waiting for his favorite who was the first to support him B.lenihan to be able to be moved into the position d) not wanting rivals e) does he not have a reputation as a perfectionist/micromanager

Or he could write a new constitution, but there's probably no need to bunreacht the boat.
Um....Dev wasn't very good at being finance minister. Just saying!

Perhaps he will promote Sean Fleming to the Finance portfolio--wasnt he once in charge of FF finances which would have given him a good insight intomatters of this kind.
