    Bogus Posters under FF banner

There have been a spate of posts lately under the FF banner with varying degrees of 'hilarity' and credulity.

Much commentary has ensued as to whether the principal protagonists are in fact FF members/supporters or otherwise..

As one of the FF moderators on this site I am familiar with the majority of FF posters in their both virtual and physical incarnations.

I can safely say that neither FiannaFail4Ever nor Pauriceenjack are known to me as amongst the FF posters on this site. They have no access to our private forum nor are they amongst the membership.

This is not conclusive evidence that they are not party members - it is possible they have conducted life in splendid isolation, observing a code of omerta by day and emerging only online to reveal their true Fianna Fail allegiance where even there they plough a lonely and difficult furrow keeping themselves to themselves rather than engaging with their virtual party brethren. Possible, but unlikely.

If there are any more question marks post the usernames here and I can clarify whether they are amongst the 'official' membership..

I agree. In true FF style, the genuine FFers should have the monopoly on posting nonsense.

Count yourself lucky, posters under the FG banner are notorious for nonsense and they are REAL FG people!
The Mahon Tribunal found Olivia Mitchell to have received an inappropriate payment from Frank Dunlop at the time of the 1992 Election. F.G. Gael has taken no action against her.

Would there be any interest in restricting the party logo avatars to paid up members? Would be useful to be able to see when the comment is coming from an actual party member rather than "just" a supporter - also would by extension would solve the problem you raise?

What is classified as 'a member' anyway?

Anyone can fill in the form and get their letters through the post.
Does this make you an actual member?

It’s true to say that it would be a lot more difficult to pretend to be a member of FG, no matter how outrageous your posts or policy suggestions, they have probably already been proposed by the official FG spokesperson.
