The sudden FF influx on politics.ie - orchestrated?

Something strange has been happening. Normally people drift on and off this site. But suddenly a whole series of new people have appeared, all of whom start threads defending Bertie Ahern and attacking the tribunal, often with extravagant language. (One now has compared Judge Alan Mahon's tribunal to Kenneth Starr!) It seems to have become a pattern.

Curiously, the vast majority of longterm FF posters have all gone silent about Ahern. So it seems to have fallen to the newbies to defend the Boss.

Is someone orchestrating it? It seems a bit odd that since Kenny's criticism of Ahern on Saturday, a whole series of these threads have appeared. Has someone in FF or Ogra decided to use politics.ie to plant pro-Bertie spins, given that they know most journalists read this site, and some pick up stories from here?

    Coincidence or orchestration? You decide.

Who cares, the good people of Politics.ie make judgements on the substance of arguments for and against, rather than who shouts the most and loudest. This isnt Questions and Answers.

This is coming from a longtime poster? November 2007? Stop will the silly conspiracy theory and contribute to some real threads.

If it is orchestrated by FF, heaven help the country, because the standard of posts and posters is appaling.

I'm not saying anyone is taking them seriously. (Most of their threads are so stupid they actually backfire!) It is just interesting that we seem to have such a sudden influx. It is also interesting that the vast majority of longterm FFers on this site no longer defend Ahern and avoid threads on him.

Whether it's a pattern or not is debatable but it is certainly a pain.

The level of exchange is petty and pathetic at times.

If it's orchestrated for the purpose of, propaganda (heaven forbid!) distraction from other issues or to waste hours of life, I couldn't really say but my heart sinks every time I see a thread entitled Bertie Is Our Hero or another one saying Bertie Is An Evil Monster And Must Die - or words to that effect.

And it sinks a little further when I see intelligent posters getting caught up in the pointless, unproductive hysteria of it.
