    Who will lose out?

Most of the conventional wisdom on this site is that Fianna Fail are destined to lose at least some Dail seats in the upcoming election for a variety of reasons some good some bad.

What I want to know is who do the random punters either in Fianna Fail or not think is going to lose their seat? Reasons & constituencies would be appreciated

Inflation stable, House prices rising, unemployment negligiible apart from the lazy wont work brigade. FF will not lose many or even several seats. Conventional wisdom, as usual, ignoring the reality out there.

You did exist during the local elections last year, did you? You know, where FF dropped 80 seats?

The locals and europeans of last year must be taken into account when discussing the potential outcome of the next General Election.Remember that those elections left FG neck and neck with FF in local councils and ahead of them in the European Parliament.

The Government's lenghty list of failures must not be forgotten either.Failure to deliver Health reform, inability to get value for public expenditure, grose incompetence at Abbotstown and elsewhere, inaction for so long on the second terminal at Dublin airport, a plethora of stealth taxes and the whole Colombia three thing could yet turn out to be a major problem for them depending on how they handle it.

Also the mere suggestion of a SF/FF alliance after the next election will alienate FF's business voters as will the split (sic) in FF between the 'socialists' and pd leaning deputies.FF basically are a mess and will drop seats, particularly in Dublin and marginal rural seats held in 2002 agaisnt the backdrop of a weaker opposition

Thats the thing I'm not worried about my party ooh someones touchy. If you make a seat gain I've no problem in eating humble pie but you wont its a simple question where will Fianna Fail lose out-or to be a bit more PC were are Fianna Fail a bit vulnerable?

Head out of the sand commentator all those successes yet so many young irish people are being forced to live miles away from their birthplace spend a half hour getting out of their estates spending 2 hours driving to and from work, God help their children/spouses if they have any.

Reams of housing estates stretching Dublin's suburbs to Arklow, Longford, Portlaoise, Gorey, Drogheda etc. A richer country but do we have a richer society.

I'm afraid your the ones ignoring reality-theres a real reason to change now.

Fine Gael/Labour vs Fianna Fail/Sinn Fein

Which is going to be the more appealing option?
