Taoiseach takes swipe at Enda Kenny

In a direct reference to Enda Kenny's cringe-worthy admission that he bought new shoes to go to Áras an Uachtaráin to receive his Seal of Office as Taoiseach, THE Taoiseach Bertie ahern has paid tribute to Fianna Fáil grassroots activists.

Speaking at the Cairde Fáil dinner tonight, he said: "While our opponents spoke about buying new shoes for the Aras, you did the hard work and wore out your shoe leather knocking on doors and getting out the vote.
"And in the end the people stood with us, and cast their votes for our candidates and our party, because they understood that we offered the best vision for Ireland’s future, and had proved in government that we could take the tough decisions that must be made to protect our hard won prosperity."

Bertie is right to be taking digs at people, its not like he is in the middle of stomach churning allegations about sordid hand outs from so called mates, is it.
If I could mass-sterilise the planet, I would. Seriously.

Do you mean that shoe joke he cracked while canvassing in a shoe shop?

So what? Fianna Fail Taoiseach makes partisan speech to partisan gathering. Whats newsworthy about that?

The majority cannot therefore be the elite.

Bertie is correct about the shoe leather, Fianna Fail is an incredible election machine, Fianna do power like no one else, they can and do get some complete idiots elected. It is just a pity they don't do government. He has a knack for talking in delusionary terms when the actual result of many decisions has ruined the country and turned it into a banana republic. In recent months and weeks it really seems to have got worst, but it is not all FF’s fault, there seems to be something terribly wrong with the Irish nation. The country is corrupted end to end.

Do Fianna Fail only get elected because of the poor opposition? I mean, what proper Irish person could vote for the Anglo party, Fine Gael?

Really, what is required is an IRISH opposition party. Let those bed-wetters go their way.

the opposition had an open goal in the last election but they were so bad they scared people back to FF. Something new is required, Italy created new parties from scatch a few years ago that quickly wiped out their versions of FF & FG. We need the same here badly.

Meanwhile, Bertie, your lies are wearing a bit thin.

I would love to see a couple of new parties. Though I still have high hopes for the PDs. Mind you, if they didn't have Mary Harney I probably wouldn't have as much time for them. The fact the McDowell is gone is a bonus too.
