    Willie O'Dea's Promotion?

I think Willie was passed over for promotion because Bertie considered him a threat to Biffo's leadership. There was a vacancy in Justice that would have suited him but he stayed in Defence.

    What are you're thoughts?

    I think Willie O'Dea didn't get promoted cause he's a bumbling fool.

He's handy for Bertie to send out to defend the indefensible, but he doesn't really have the gravitas I'd expect from a Minister of Justice. Mind you, some of the recent occupants of that role haven't exactly been inspiring figures...

Beara, are you serious? Willie as a treat to FF leadership/Taoiseach? Should this not be political humour??

I think he's quite good ... for a FFer.You have to admit that he has a wide appeal spectrum that cuts across party lines

No - I don't have to admit that at all. The man is woeful, and an embarrassment to the bloody nation. Just cause he has a bit of humour doesn't make him a serious challenger for senior cabinet positions.

Willie is an excellent Minister. Its quite sad when a fellow Limerick man such as Scitilop doesnt accept all the hard work that Minister O'Dea has done for Limerick. By asking should this be in the Humour Sections smacks of the snobbery and political naievity that is so evident in the Labour Party.
