Ahern money "probably dollars" - AIB in tribunal

An AIB expert on financial transactions has told the Mahon Tribunal that a disputed lodgement of Taoiseach Bertie Ahern probably was in dollars. In her view, having reviewed the transactions in question, that is by far the most likely explanation as no other explanation matches up in terms of numbers.

Bertie Ahern has categorically denied ever receiving US dollars.

Tom Gilmartin has alleged that Ahern received payments in dollars from the US.

The dollar allegation is seen as the most potentially damaging one, as it matches claims against him and conflicts completely with his own detailed statements and insistence to the tribunal.

I'm struck by something, don't the banks normally refuse to do foreign exchange on coins?

    AIB?

Their advertising slogan should be changed from BE with AIB to BS from AIB.

AIB keep on giving the Bert a glimmer of hope "probably was, most likely" , why don't they just slam the door on his ugly mush or maybe they want the lawyers to do it for them, bet your man O'Callaghan will be moving his accounts.
"Struck by something", probably a pound coin, these threads have been saying for weeks banks do not exchange coins, the lawyers have been saying it also, it is a crucial nail in the Bert's coffin.

If all this was happening in Uzbekhistan we'd be laughing our smug ballix aff. What is this all doing to the Free State's reputation internationally? It must be a laughing stock. Even in Uzbekhistan.

Newsflash - Ireland has been a laughing stock internationally, with regard to corrupt political elites, for many many years.

    ('Free State'? - how quaint).
