You're right. It would be much more appropriate to refer to the remaining dregs as the "Structural Deficit Party"

If there was to be a change, I prefer the "1.2 million new jobs party" myself, but we would all have our own personal favourites I suppose.

The “structural deficit party” could be claimed by a few over the years, whereas the “1.2 million new jobs” is pretty unique.
    no pasaran!

If only someone had told Bertie Ahern, after all everything was perfect when he left.

Good attempt to derail the thread, though.

Ah yes, the old ones are the best, aren't they, particularly when you can't think of anything else to say.

Tell me this though, in your head like and given I was replying to your piece of nonsense, where do you get the "derailing" bit from?
    no pasaran!

Barabus any links or book titles were this is mentioned? I've never really heard of Hugh or Owen Roe's promotion of this concept before so it is interesting to a history geek like me!

No need to change the fictional tagline at this stage.
I predict that with the writing becoming so small election after election that it will be impossible to see it in 2016 anyway.

It's time for Fianna Fáil to drop the "Political Party" tagline.

There was never any reason to have two very similar centre-right parties in Ireland, they remained separate as a consequence of the civil war. However, FF won't merge with anbody, and will regroup and will recover - perhaps never to attain the level of support they once had, but I could see their support easily growing to the low 30% bracket within the next 15/20 years. I've been a Labour supporter all of my life so this is not wishful thinking.
