1. Do you know Ahern? I do. I knew him through my job. He is a repulsive heap of shyt, no better than a thug. I have no sympathy for him at all. I am sorry he didn't run in the election, for I wanted to see him humiliated and destroyed by the polls. But I do know about deliberating pain because I suffer from it. I have to take Tylex and Keral for the pain, and sometimes have to use a walking stick to ease the pain of moving. I would not wish debilitating pain on anyone. No exceptions. I wouldn't wish it on people in politics I despise. I wouldn't wish it on the neo-Nazis that tried to infiltrate this site. I won't wish physical pain on people - period.
2. If you think I am part of the "same system" you could not be more wrong. Yes my job meant I do know a lot of politicians. I have worked in Leinster House. But if you knew me you would know that the system does not like me at all because I tend to say what I think - irrespective of whether they like to hear it or not. Politicians have long viewed me as a trouble maker because I will call it exactly as I see it. They like loyal devotees who say what they want to hear. I am not like that. I told
FF politicians I know exactly what I thought of the bailout. People in
FG know I have been very strongly critical of this government in specific areas. You may think me part of the "same system" but few in politics do. I prefer to be constructive, not destructive.
3. For me, attacking the family of someone is a fundamental no-no. I don't care if the politician is
FF,
FG,
SF, DUP, UUP or anyone else. The family is out of bounds. They didn't choose which family to be born into, nor did they decide on policies. I will defend the family of Dermot Ahern just as I will defend the family of Gerry Adams, Martin McGuinness, Enda Kenny, Joe Higgins or anyone else. By all means go after politicians' politically. But don't bring their families into it. I won't bring their family into a disagreement anymore than I would bring your family into a disagreement I have with you.
