As for the question what should Martin do?

    1. Accept responsibility for FF failures
    2. Highlight FG/Labour's broken promises
    3. Attack Euro financial integration

If he does he will go up another 5 points.

Appealing to the collective amnesia that the irish electorate suffers from. We won't really know how this pole will manifest itself until the next election, but, I hope that they will never obtain power again in this country. We are looking at bigger issues here that are beyond just party politics in this country, do we accept them back into the mainstream of political life, therefore giving them a pass on past indiscretions, or do we say, look, enough is enough we do not want that class of politician or party representing us in the future. If it is the former then I despair.

Are FF higher than Labour in the most recent polls - yes. Did I suggest that they were roaring back - no.

I did suggest that if FG and Labour do not get the finger out quickly that FF will come roaring back just like FG did in 2007. After 2002 many predicted FG were finished and look what happened. FF dropped the ball and FG roared back.

I dislike FF with a passion. I never voted for them and never will. Yet nearly 400k people in this country still voted for them in the most recent GE. A few more percentage points at the next GE and they are back in business. Sadly as they say they haven't gone away, you know.

Yop. Insert a little bit on how the cuts are hitting the ordinary man on the street but sparing others. Don't go into specifics or anything like that though.
If you're the first out the door, that's not called panicking.

He has to record it tomorrow morning, but the timing seems extraordinary, and it seems odd that the Gov wouldn't use the act.

The Technical Group and Sinn Fein also get airtime, Thomas Pringle and Gerry Adams will be recording responses too, which will be broadcast around the Six One news this evening.

What do you think Martin should do with the airtime?
