It was a Fianna Fáil shill that posted the OP, ffs.

    Unwise.

Though you could use the response to the OP as corresponding to the reaction the general public is likely to have at any opposition by Fianna Fáil to any measure in the budget coming up.

I thought that was BIFFO? Oh sorry, I missed the oxy.

As already noted, FF inflated the allowance beuond reason, and then cut it last year.

    Very poor attempt at trolling.

Conscience that thing that should be telling Barry's brother to request a reduction in his Celtic Tiger pension. Maybe Barry could prod his brothers conscience for him. Brian could say leave me alone, isn't it enough I gave you my seat now you want my pension as well.

What this says to me is how desperately we need an Opposition. Watching Steve Silvermint leaping up and down in the Dáil like the proverbial yo-yo, complaining about the EXACT SAME as he voted for is not Opposition, it's shallow empty populism. We get enough of that from the Shinners and Ming.

How ironic. They started the cuts in child benefit so can't take the moral high ground now!

The country is BUST, BUST, BUST. Either we sort out our finances or there will be no child benefit or medical cards for any body. The German bond auction today is a further indication that we are not living in normal times

Under FF Govts Child Benefit increased over eight times the cost of living increase from 1997 to 2009

rather than cutting it, far better to cap it at three kids

And yet everyone prepared to be honest admits that they were raised to an unsustainable level during the Bertie splurge and must therefore now be reduced.

Further to this, I think even if FF were in Government now with Labour the cuts would be the same. This is a non-issue and we should not be stirring things up. Focus on our own budget recommendations and leave this to FG/LB. Lets try and put forward a different view on how to sort the deficit.
But FF didnt lie about what was needed, Labour and FG have gotten into power on the basis of lies, that's fraud and they should resign in shame

And have you forgotten Enda and Eamo dancing up and down in the Dail this time last year demanding an election - "youse have no mandate to govern, you have broken all your promises, you have lied to the people, you´re guilty of economic treason and anyway, it´s been ages since we were in power , so it´s our turn now". It´s how governments and oppositions behave unfortunately - what is worrying is the sight of party hacks like you pretending FG would behave any differently. Will ya ffs, grow up. Anyway, it mightn´t be long before you´re begging FF for their support! Labour will walk when the time is right, electorally speaking, and FG have absolutely no control over when this will be.
