    Grwoing nostalgia for Bertie and Albert and Brian and Mary

    As I walk down the corridors of the local A&E in 2011 where people are no longer on trolleys but chairs, where waiting lists have waiting list to get on waiting lists, where ambulances have to loan their trolleys for those in A&E, where old people are brought to A&E by the Gardai suffering from hypothermia, where bereavement grants and respite care grants for carers are going, and the silence of the closed wards....

    ... I think to myself....

    ...Fianna Fail Governments - weren't they wonderful?

    But then again I have had a mild stroke recently.

    Well, as far as I know Reynolds actually tried to improve matters. But the media wanted Bertie in there to "let er rip". Reynold also had the good sense to drop that toxic oufit the PDs.

    I am reluctant to allow the damage done by Ahern to be shared with others. But Cowen deserves abuse for his period as MoF.

    Which Mary ? Hanafinshed, Calamity, or the batty headcase from Athlone ???

    Or maybe Sumo ? Yes, Sumo deserves to be critiqued for the mess she left in the HSE.
