The blueshirts will only focus on who this proposal came from. They don't want to deal with the reality that their own party act very similar. Secretly they admired the way FF did business, they were jealous of how they operated. They feel it's now their turn to have their noses in the trough.

It's rare to hear of SF supporting FF in the Dáil. I'm glad to hear they've been on about it for years but FF has now proposed the bill and hopes to see it passed.

And where are FG's clean hands when it comes to corporate financing and party fundraising?

I agree entirely, not one person has addressed the issue of the secretive K Club fundraisers organised by FG. Who wants to defend this? The FF bill will end this culture, that's the reality.

I don't know what you're talking about in terms of the ''secret rendez vous'' Hammer. It's as simple as this, it's a good bill and it should be passed.

Pretty much forever, if it is as gratuitously cynical as this.

What about individual donations from people who make up corporations - how do FF propose to deal with that? I gave an example above. If corporations want to buy influence (and I'm not saying that they all do), what difference if the donation is from a corporation or from a series of prominent individuals within that corporation? Surely the corrosive effect that FF's bill is supposedly aimed at eliminating remains in place?...
