Y'see, I avoid Marty - just like I avoid the bits of RTE radio that I don't like. I'm not obliged to listen to all stations 24 hours a day. I pick and choose - and I have plenty of stuff available to chose from.

Lyric is a bit easy listening for my tastes. I like my "Classical" (scare quotes because classical is a very small genre in the symphonic form) a little more off the beaten path and Lyric tends to stay on a very populist path. Still I discover Arvo Part on Lyric so I suppose that it has some value.

All of it has value to different people. I can't bear Tubridy but I'm not forced to listen to him. I don't much like Kenny, but he gets some fascinating guests on his show and actually interviews them well. I even even enjoy JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOEEEEEEEEEEEEE DUUUUUUUUFFFFFFFFFFFFFY when he gets on to an interesting story.
