Bertie goes to the Aras will Georgina Succeed him in Dub C

If Bertie does go for the Aras in 2011, who will succeed him in Dublin Central? Will it be his daughter Georgina, who is married to Nicky Byrne, or will it be his author daughter Cecilia. Or will Bertie's son-in-law Nicky Byrne be an ideal candidate?

He has a high profile, a background in sport, and would be hugely popular with young and old alike.

The tradition is that it usually goes to a member of the family.

That Nicky Byrne would be popular with young and old alike is a matter of opinion. As for it being a tradition that the seat goes to a member of the family, it isn't a good tradition. "Vote for me because my daddy or mammy was a local TD for 30 years" is hardly grounds for electing someone. Clearly gombeenism is still alive in 21st century Ireland.

It worked for Sumo De Velera.

Mary Lou will surely take this if Bertie goes to the Aras.

Nah let Celia Larkin have it, part of the 'divorce' settlement.

I presume the job would be Georgiana's for the taking if she wanted it...and she's easier on the eye than Bertie (twins would be about to start primary by this stage also). My personal preference would be for Cecilia, (even easier on the eye) but she's too busy making millions... BTW, how about Miriam, who seems to have been very active in the recent "re-elect Bertie with a huge surplus" campaign? Alternately, Bertie could adopt Cyprian Brady to make sure he holds his seat next time out, runnign as Cyprian Ahern!

Well, since Cyprian seems to be a TD because he knows where the bodies are buried, Bertie will probably have to back him again if he's in the Áras, unless all the bad news has already emerged and he's brazened it out.

Which is perfectly possible, I suppose.

Georgina has never worked a day in her life and is nothing but a glorified groupie. No different to a lot of Fianna Fail TDs I admit. Cecelia has proven she is well fit to work in a laundry.

If Bertie is gone by 2012, which I expect, I don't expect that Cyprian or any other Brady fools will be elected on 75 first preferences or whatever he got. Yes maybe Georgina would go for it, but I really don't think I could stick seeing Nicky Byrne beyond the demise of Westlife (please God, soon).
