Mary McAleese Fianna Fail's Greatest Triumph over the past decade

Despite the misery certain Fianna Fail policies have brought on the electorate, surely Mary McAleese's term as President must rank as a success for the party. Her grace and presence have certainly brought her international acclaim, culminating with the Queen's visit. So what ever about Bertie's other decisions, surely his choice for President will go down as a good one?
Fine Gael's new party slogan :Er, what year was that? Circumstances have, you know, changed a bit.

    I wasn't a fan, to be honest.

I appear to be in a minority, though.

She was a horror. Everything rotten about FF. Church toadie and bigot.
Not fit to lick Mary Robinson's boots.

Glad she will be gone, no idea why people think she was any good.

"Grace and Presence". It's amazing what an unlimited expense account can buy.

A success or a rubber stamp?

Either way, at least she seems to have been untainted by FF sleaze.

She lauded the Celtic Tiger and building boom along with Riverdance. She did good work at reconciliation though, but likes to remind us she was forced out of her home by loyalists. And her ref. to the Nazis was chilling

In that she kept her mouth shut while the gombeens got to work for a slice of the pie, yes, she is an FF idea of a triumph.

Realistically however, she leaves behind an office greatly diminished by her inactivity.
