What policies are you talking about? Don't patronise me and claim FF is responsible for the Celtic Tiger or any of that crap or that the sky will fall in if Enda KEnny became Taoiseach. Explain to me why a country with the wealth of Ireland does not have proper public transport system, why we are STILL building massive urban sprawl with no public services. Why we have no metro to the airport, why our economy is so dependent on building, why a country as small as Ireland does not have a modern fast, clean, efficient railway system, why red tape in Ireland is astounding etc etc etc.

Why is FF incapable of solving these problems. I could solve them on an A4 pad - but I don't have the power to implement changes. None of those problems are rocket science.

How on earth can a government not know it was getting nearly 4 billion in extra money and similar amounts for 10 years - a surplus is great but where is the moeny coming from and why is a government having a surplus - that moeny should be given back to the people who paid it - cut back the stealth taxes - use it to make Ireland a better and more competitive market place.

I'm not saying FG have a lot to do to convince people but it's not quite right otsimply say FF won cos it is the better party. FF work on fear - it worked perfectly this time. Fair enough and hopefully FG will get some balls and learn a few lessons but I simply do not believe FF acts in the best interests of the country - in the best interests of certain industry maybe and if you waste enough moeny it flows down eventually.

Take a read of the Fianna Fáil manifesto, its over 150 pages of policy. I could list all the achievements of the last two decades but somehow I don't think it'll change your mind. But its funny how you seem to think that FF had nothing to do with the the Celtic Tiger but I bet you would be the first one to blame FF if there was a collapse. Am I wrong Governments inherently affect the progress of an economy and if Fianna Fáil have nothing to do with it why do we receive so many foreign delegations trying to learn from the government how to replicate our success.

I think if you had any understanding whatsoever of the issues that need to be solved you wouldn't trivialise them by suggesting that you could solve them on your A4 pad. It takes time and effort and when Bertie is re-elected Taoiseach we will get moving on further improving Ireland.

Now as for predicting surpluses, how is it the fault of political parties that the experts fail to predict them. But the one thing it does show is how amazing is the growth that this country has achieved under Fianna Fail. And we have given it back to the people. Income taxes have been cut, capital gains have been cut, capital acquisitions have been cut, pensions have increased, social welfare has increased, child benefit has increased. People under Fianna Fáil governance have more spending power than they did in 1997 or 2002.

Fianna Fáil goes out to win elections. I don't know how you can be the voice of every single Fianna Fáil voter but I think you'll find people do not usually vote on fear. They may on competence and the opposition failed to convince them that they had competence, that they could do the job better, that their policies were better than Fianna Fail. If Fianna Fáil only act to the benefit of certain industries why do 41.6% of the electorate vote for them. If the people actually believe that FF do not act in their interest, why does anyone vote for us? And moreover why do so many less people vote for FG? Maybe its because we do the job better.

You have a leader about to come unstuck in a corruption trial. That 45OOOK will cost you lot bigtime. Lets watch Bertie get out of that one. As for your government. You are going to be hard pressed to get 84 votes. With the drink driver stating he may not back your great leader you have 77 votes, the same as the Rainbow. Flynn can be excluded as she is likely to be declared bankrupt with a FG pick up likely 78 for the Rainbow. PDs will not support Bertie when the scandal breaks. 80 for the Rainbow plus Lowry 81, plus Gregory 82 plus McGrath 83. SF will not vote for corruption. Bye Bye Bertie. Weep FF, YOU BUNCH OF LOSERS.

Guess we'll see come the vote for Taoiseach but I recommend if you are that confident you go onto betfair. You can get Enda at 25-1.

BTW whats a "looser". If its what I think it is, I'll have you know I wear my belt quite tightly. Eejit

I reckon the skies will fall in if FG get near power. Elation with a man who gained a good number of seats when the election was there for the taking (and it was) suggests to me an abject party failure.

It also suggests a party which is happy to be second because they know their leader is simply not good enough. Many FGers say this in the shadows. Why not say it publicly? I genuinely don't get it.

    Which manifesto, the 2007 one?
Because I'd be quite happy if they worked on the 2002 promises first. That promised great things too.

On P.ie most people have an affiliation or a leaning or a proclivity or an oul sense of 'we should have' voted for whomever. I don't.

I aligned in this election with SF and a few independents but I have to ask why FG people still think Enda (a man I like) ...f*ck, forget it...it's worth its own thread!
