Micheal Martin has updated his party's front bench to fill vacancies left as a result of the death of Brian Lenihan.

Eamon O Cuiv becomes deputy leader, Michael McGrath becomes Finance spokesman and Seán Fleming becomes spokesman on Pubic Expenditure and Public Sector Reform.

I am confident that all three will provide robust and constructive challenge to the Government in the next term of the Dáil, in addition to strong leadership within the Fianna Fáil party as we work to renew the organisation across the country.

Hard to know whether this or Helena Sheehan is bigger news.

So that means he's out of the presidential race he was never involved in.

With O Cweeve as deputy, FF will surely be able to look into its own heart see what the Irish people are thinking !

So can we infer from this that they will not be entering the #aras11 contest

These appointments show the hole that FF is in. This will create a PR perception nightmare for FF.

Leader - articulate, with a mild Cork accent
Deputy Leader - articulate, with a strong western accent
Finance spolesman - articulate enough, but with a very strong Cork accent
Pulbic Expenditure - woefully inarticulate, with a very strong midlands accent

The four most public spokesmen for FF don't make up a very appealing team of people to listen to.....

Jesus, they really are pathetic now. Dumb, dumber and dumbest. I know I hate the feckers, but that is really pathetic.
