This is a possibility, say it quietly.

My overall analysis at this stage is that the campaign focused very much on the potential combinations and who would deal with who. The result of this is that the electorate moved towards the main parties to express their preferences and this affected the smaller parties negatively.

Democracy is dead, accountability sacrificed at the alter of spite and Bertis can pronounce him King and have the President shot and the tiny 'republican' tag finally remove from the party name.

At least when the chickens come home to roost and the economy takes a nose dive and the health service dies on its knees and the the property sector hits the wall and thousands are reposessed FF will have no-one to blame.
    Veni, vidi, arrivederci

Hopefully the meltdown of the privatisation party will continue and a FF-PD coalition will become unviable leaving either Gerry Marx of SF or Pat the nibbler to become king makers. FF although polling well are suffering as a direct result of the far right* neoliberal clapjap that the PD's have forced down our throats in Dail 29. Fianna Fail are always popularism and is a case of "special of the day" and they have real ideology and would swing from centre left to communism if they thought it would swing votes.

This election has been decided by old grannies with walking sticks bearing a grudge that their uncle was held up by the free-state army in 1922, thanks alot Mr. Ahern for giving young people and hard working professionals a chance, the election should be on a Saturday and a public holiday declared for it. The day will come when Fianna Fail will suffer hard, the mess the economy is in, FG are nearly better off without attempting to try and sort it. FF are damaging democracy and the people although like a battered housewife coming back for more will eventually revolt, you can only push the people so far. I predict Fianna Faill will initiate Water Privatisation, and ending social welfare if they go back in with Her Flicks party.

*Not far right righ in the BNB, Nazi sense but in unrestricted Capitalism, which would make Dubya and his Texan oil buddies proud.

So is it only republican grannies you would prevent voting, or free stae grannies as well?
