Not commenting about Michael Martin, or journos in the Sindo, on account of recent unfortunate news that impacts them both.

Time to opt out of the usual critiques on both of these for a while.
Dublin, Europe's most supportive tourist destination for Peados, thanks to no electronic passport swipe in Dublin Airport. Ireland always facilitates child molestors.

You might want to read what the bloody article has to say about MM's weasley-worded apology before making an eejit of yourself like that.

However, Mr Martin, who has spent the last 13 years in Cabinet, fell short of a categoric apology for the damage done to the country.
That statement about "not standing back from the general consensus in terms of raising expenditure and reducing taxes" is a flat out attempt to dodge the responsibility for FF's mismanagement of the economy. As I've already stated, he's spinning a complete falsehood here. i.e that FF were simply bowing to popular pressure to increasing spending. It was deliberate and calculated vote buying.

The most significant thing about the article though, is the statement by Martin that FF "spent too much and taxed too little". It's a shocking admission that FF are incapable of managing the national finances. As pointed out on other threads, Martin seems to view this catastrophic incompetence as a simple accounting error.

Long may this clown reign as FF leader.

And still the ABFF waffle on about FF in office. The same people who played second fiddle to FF SIX elections in a row are now in government nearly 12 months and still as useless as ever. Better start showing some improvement folk as time is running out on you and the next election will be on top of you before you know where you are. Tweaking here and there the decisions FF made for you is not good enough and its time you showed some results based on your own limited imagination.
BTW, missing the ol jigs at the jobless numbers shooting up each month ? Missing blaming FF for the 1000 emigrating each months ? Enjoying paying the bondholders you hated so much ? Looking forward to the second bailout and failing to restore lost sovereignty ?
