Brian Cowen freakout on News at One

is anyone listening to the news at one?????

brian cowen is going absolutely hysterical shouting down both richard bruton and sean o rourke, ranting and raving about the fine gael and labour economic plans

he has being deliberately deceitful at least twice

    1) condemnng fg and labour for having differing spending plans......but not seeing any problem with similar problems between ff and the pds

    2) accepting that fg and labour WILL negotiate in an agreed framwork, but then concocting some problem with that

bonkers stuff.........and the ff election campaign gets even more bizarre

No he is making the point that Fg and Labour promised a joint policy platform going into this election, they included a 2.9 bn sundry expenses in their costings and have both overshot this amount with their policies meaning that most of the policies being made by FG and Labour at this stage will not make the programme for government. The contract is broken, dont stand Enda.

    Cowen lost it.

It was a spiteful rant from a bully.

He made no points that he could support.

I can't see him gaining any votes with this style of bullying.

..there's too many threads on this ..

Cowen sounded like a spoilt brat. George Lee said it was like the pot calling the kettle black .. Cowen can't deliver everything .. though he would like to ..

Cowen went nuts, he was even repeating things Bruton didn't say .. Cowen says its a con job .. are you joking ..

    as Bruton said quoting FF

'if the PD's promises were delivered it would plunge us into huge deficit'

    some other quotes:

Cowen: 'You admitted on national radio that you can't keep all of the promises .. you just said it!'

Bruton: 'you can't even agree with your own partners after 10 years!

Bruton: 'You've made this one of the most expensive countries to live in - that's your legacy!

Cowen: 'You drank your cups of coffee in Mullingar and had this pact.. but you ca't keep all of these commitments

Bruton: 'We will stay within stability pact, observe what's affordable and reform burocracy that You have created .. '

Cowen: 'This is ridiculous.. what core commitments are you committed to?'

Bruton: 'You are the party that promised class sizes etc and did not deliver ..'

The FF members love Cowen when he goes off on one. Why that appeals to them I don't know, but when he lambastes the opposition it's like a rallying call to the party supporters around the country
    Fight terror, support Israel!

George Lee, RTE's economic expert, has just disputed the whole thrust of Cowen's argument. He re-iterated the unique importance of the Kenny contract, and backed up the argument made by Richard Bruton.

This has turned into a huge own goal by Cowen.

The man has no tactical nous.
