Conor Lenihan's PA says Cowen will be ousted as Taoiseach by the end of the week

Conor Lenihan's PA Joe Neville has posted a rather interesting comment online...

Me thinks there may be a major political upheavel by the end of the Dail week.
When questioned on what he's talking about, he clarifies that he believes Cowen will be ousted as Taoiseach at the demand of the Greens, otherwise there will be a General Election at the start of Febuary.

BC gone at the insistence of the Greens ala CJH 1990 or else a GE in the first week of February!.
Neville, who posts the remarks on his Facebook page, says he believes it's as result of the Seanie Fitzpatrick revelations which were discussed all day today on Politics.ie (http://www.politics.ie/current-affai...guarantee.html).

This morning's Irish Times leads with a report by Colm Keena and Mary Minihan that the Greens are to query Cowen on his contacts with Sean Fitzpatrick.

Greens to query Cowen on contacts with former Anglo chief - The Irish Times - Mon, Jan 10, 2011

Conor Lenihan's (who's the Junior Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, as well as the brother of Minister for Finance Brian Lenihan) aide says we should listen out for what the Greens say in the morning.

I would listen out for what Gormley/Ryan have to say on the airwaves tomorrow morning.

What a strange statement to make as a PA to a Junior Minister, only time will tell but I don't think the water is murky in this instance.

Methinks Conor's PA'll be ousted by the end of the day.

Japers.. are things about to start getting even more interesting..

presume he means 1992 and not 1990 as to the date that the PDs came looking for CJH's head

I think FF will refuse to oust Cowen, to do so now would make them look even more foolish than they already are.

GP will walk away in the hope of salvaging at least 1, if not 2, TDs at the GE and we will all be going to the polls Friday 11th Feb

Greens will walk this week alright. Small boost in polls plus chance to take the initiative away from FF.
