    Could FF ditch Bertie pre-election?

    Could FF ditch Bertie pre-election?

Politically, it would be very unusual but considering the last week it is a possability. Its unlikely that this will go away before polling day.

Technically, can a new leader be elected before May 24th? Or are there minimum times for nominations etc

As far as I have seen on this site, a new leader would have to be elected by the parliamentary party, which was dissolved, all TD's are now ex-TD's. If something big comes out, he might resign, or be forced to and have Biffo as care taker leader, but it would be like Admiral Donitz after Hitler, a real ************************ty job offer.

Bertie is still a huge asset. Joe soap punter still loves him. They will rally around him and the more the others criticise him the better it is for FF.

They ditched Brian Lenihan in 1990, didn't they? He was their Presidential candidate and Charlie sacked him after the tapes affair when the PDs called for his head on a plate. Different circumstances this time, but you know what they say about rats deserting a sinking ship, not only do they desert it but they become very vicious in the process.

Exactly right, I've already herd people call the PDs cowards and say "nothings been proven"

Mark my words, this is bad news for the PDs and opposition , not FF.
