Just heard on the programme another journom ask Bertie if he would answer the question about Padraig O'Connor that he refused to answer yesterday. His most terse, tetchy answer in a pure angry voice was "No I wont"!

Now, he has just said he wont fight the election in 2012 which means a vote for this government to return is for an unknown Taoiseach...And look at the hames Blair has made of the transition.

Is it true a FF flunkey tried to wrestle the mike of Brown at the interview?

    Thanks

Sh*t Johnny it must have been good. I wish I had been there!

Dermot Ahern has now complemented Brown for doing Bertie a favour to explain himself. Very sadly I think for the non political anorak he is possibly right.

What's worse is that it was that piece they used on PrimeTime after the PJ vs Browne incident. Not particularly smart, let's grab the mic from the journo who's recording when all the cameras are rolling!

He may well be, but he comes across better than both Bertie and Cowen.

Cowen talked about the economy moving from being a 'high growth low unemployment economy' to 'using the NDP to upskill people, better jobs in the future - for more people'

    Browne asked him:

Is the price of growth that 20 per cent live in misery?

That there are 10k millionaires -on the one hand and yet one fifth in poverty - how can you square that?

Cowen couldn't square it. He even had the cheek to refer to it as an absolutionist approach

he said 'more people are getting access to better jobs and growth' - as if access to jobs is good enough. this is the classic rising-tide-floats-all-boats theory

    total bullsh*t

its like saying that there should not be homelessness on the streets because the doors of the Ritz are open to everyone

This Government listens way too much to IBEC - such nonsense.

and most people buy this nonsense.
