That's actually his predecessor as Mayor of Midleton

O'Neill is the only FF councillor on Midleton TC. In fact they've suffered a meltdown there, holding none of the six county council seats in the LEA. I'd be interested to know how he ever got to be mayor.

Understatement of the century. The Irish taxpayer is going to end up paying perhaps close to 100 billion euro to clean up a banking mess that grew massively on his watch.

Cowen clearly didn't understand the need for banking regulation, he thought it was something evil the blueshirts would come up with. So he let the banking cowboys run the show unfettered. And as long as the FF developers were getting the money, all was well, since as long as FF is looked after Cowen is happy.

To hell with a cowen resignation . If that mayor or any other FFer had an ounce of morality running through their bodies it would be an general election they'd be calling for. Anything else is just pandering butt covering tactics.

Just been listening to Cowen on the RTE News---to say that he was pathetic would be a gross understatement--if he had a shred of patriotism in his bones he would dissolve the Dail immediatly and allow the people to decide who they want to lead them out of the mess created in no small measure by Bertie and Cowan

This obsession with style over substance really is pathetic. The critics of Cowen are not upset with the policies but the way they are being explained. The problem lies with the opposition which fails to highlight the inadequacies of the Government response instead of focussing on the policies themselves.
